Spring Tips

As the days grow warmer and you get the urge to get outdoors and explore more, having a car that is spring ready, is just one of the many ways that you can welcome in this new and much beloved season.

And here’s what you need to do this September to get your car ready for spring:

  1. Look at your cooling system

You can do this yourself if you know where to look, or you can take it to someone to do this for you, but checking your cooling system is a must, especially if you are here in the Lowveld. You don’t want your car to end up overheating, and when you are doing the inspection you should keep a lookout for any cracks or leaks in the radiator or hose, you should check the connection to make sure that it is tight and you should have a look at the levels of your coolant and anti-freeze.

  1. Look at the tyres

Because the rainy season is here, you need to ensure that your tyres are still in a great condition which means there is no balding, that there is a decent thread, and you should also make sure that the wheels are aligned, especially if you are hitting the road.

  1. Look at the wipers

Again, rain is coming and you need to see (obviously), so now is the time to replace your wipers, especially if you notice that the wipers are dried out and cracked.

  1. Look at the air conditioner

After a whole season of probably not turning on your air con, you are going to want to make sure that the system still works properly. The best way to check is to just turn it on.

  1. Give the car a wash

There are few things quite as satisfying as a clean car and it really is the best way to start spring. Along with washing the outside and working out any tiny scratches, you should also do a full clean on the inside, or just bring your vehicle to us, and we’ll do the hard work for you!
